Bika Rebek

Bika Rebek (‘15 MSCCCP) is a partner at Some Place Studio (SPS), a New York City-and Vienna-based architecture practice. Rebek’s work as an architect, educator, and curator is defined by an expansive interest in contemporary issues through the lens of architectural discourse and technology. Her work has been covered in Domus, Metropolis Magazine, PIN-UP, The Guardian, The Architect’s Newspaper, and Architektur Aktuell among others.

Rebek has worked with a number of international institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, and the Dhaka Art Summit. Through SPS, she has worked with clients such as Samsung, 2x4, Weav Music, and Sagmeister & Walsh. She co-authored and designed the Slovenian pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2018.

An educator and avid mentor of young architects, Bika sits on the advisory board of the Future Architecture Platform, a Pan-European platform of architecture museums, festivals, and producers. She is the co-founder of Hot Air, a nomadic architecture space in downtown Manhattan that provides an alternative platform to the traditional institutions of New York City.

Bika holds a graduate architecture degree from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and a Master of Science from Columbia University. She has been serving as faculty at Columbia GSAPP since 2015, teaching core curriculum courses as well as advanced visual studies seminars. Her teaching experience spans teaching design studios at the Spitzer School of Architecture and Yale University.
