Faculty Bika Rebek leads the workshop Preparing 3D Models for Web and Photogrammetry. This lecture and workshop addresses the history and technical background of 3d models on the web and includes practical demonstrations providing students with tools to share their designs with peers, instructors or clients.
Photogrammetry has long been a way to measure and map the world. This lecture/workshop will cover the historic and technical basis of photogrammetry and introduce current uses and applications in architectural design and preservation.
The workshop will introduce a straightforward and affordable way to capture three-dimensional objects and space with standard tools. This course covers how to scan an architectural model and edit its mesh for various output purposes.
Tools discussed in the workshop will include Rhino, Meshmixer, 3dsmax, and Sketchfab.
