Adjunct Assistant Professor

John Scheeler is a UX Engineer at Google. He works on the Google Earth team, contributing to building design and analysis tools for the built environment. These tools enable design professionals and interested users to generate new urban regions and understand the performance of existing environments. John believes that computational analysis tools are an essential vector for promoting the adoption and integration of sustainable practices into architectural workflows. To accomplish this, John leverages advanced sensing technologies, data analysis workflows, and novel interfaces to promote the democratization of smarter, environmentally-aware design tools.

Prior to his current position, John was a Computational Designer at Sidewalk Labs, where he worked on Delve, a digital master planning tool where users generate, evaluate, and optimize design options. Past professional experience includes work in emerging technologies such as VR, modular systems, and strategic consulting experience with multiple FAANG companies.
