Peter Flamm

Peter Flamm is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Urban Planning program. He established P. Flamm Arts Consulting LLC to apply his unique experience in planning, operations, and construction at Lincoln Center, the world’s largest and most significant arts campus, to provide consulting services for the optimal management, operation, and capital construction of arts and cultural organizations, facilities, and public spaces. His recent clients include Children’s Museum of Manhattan, The Climate Museum, GFP Real Estate, National Black Theatre, and the Roundabout Theatre Company.

Peter served as the Executive Director of Lincoln Center Development Project, Inc. and Vice President, Real Estate Development of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. He was responsible for the planning and oversight of major capital renovation and expansion projects for the facilities and public areas that comprise the Lincoln Center campus. This includes the $1.6 billion Redevelopment of Lincoln Center completed in 2012 and the more recently completed $550 million David Geffen Hall Project.

As Executive Director of LCDP, Peter led the planning and construction of the David Geffen Hall Project as Project Executive on behalf of LCPA and the New York Philharmonic, delivering the transformative project on budget and 18-months ahead of its original schedule. Opened in October 2022, the project has been positively received and is widely considered a success across many metrics. In addition to a successful acceleration of design, procurement and construction during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Project’s framework delivered a transformative result to meet the critical needs of the two organizations for a sustainable future – targeting fundamental strategies to advance community engagement and inclusivity priorities, improve performance and patron experience, facilitate revenue enhancements and expense control, and respect strategic limitations on project costs and schedule displacement.

Peter has over 20 years of experience in planning, operating, and capital project administration in arts and cultural facilities. Prior to his role as Executive Director of LCDP, Peter was the Vice President for Concert Halls & Operations for LCPA, where he oversaw capital projects, venue sales, production management, security management, visitors’ services, commercial contracts, engineering, trade, and custodial services as required to maintain, operate, repair, and renovate the facilities under the purview of LCPA. This included oversight of campus-wide operating and capital budgets for approximately 1.5 million square feet of real estate with annual expenses exceeding $75 million involving 18 individual budgets.

Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University.
