“Systems of Sympathy” addresses different kinds of support demonstrations (protests and meetings) that occurred during the Vietnam war, and how they were registered and coordinated to produce images. This proposal is located in two sites, the US and Vietnam, creating a system of monuments to commemorate the diplomatic and social sympathy. This system hosts contemporary demonstrations that, through the strategies of theatricality, spectacle, and performance, trigger mediatic impact through image production.
