Examining methodological assumption and the impact of HOLC security map boundaries (1938) on health infrastructure in Brooklyn, NY (2019).
This study aims to understand how and to what extent a “Methodology of assumption” impacts one’s findings in spatial analysis. Through examination of the HOLC maps and their impact on health infrastructure and investment, the results of two distinct methodologies are compared. Health infrastructure is defined as hospitals, hospital extensions, and health centers.
