Perspective Drawing

Museum as Urban Village* reframes the contemporary museum, informed by the culture of Harlem in its expression of life on the street, through the creation of collaborative artist live-work spaces, informal public spaces, and ambiguous program zones that articulate the urban edge of Harlem’s Manhattanville Factory District. The project asks: How does a museum preserve the cultural legacy of Harlem and retain Harlem-based artists while addressing the housing deficit and disappearing public spaces?
