The drawing was produced using a drawing machine that transcribes the sounds I make as I brush my teeth and simultaneously get ready in the morning. I recorded the sounds before then using speakers to transfer the vibrations to a plastic membrane. A specially designed brush tool made from toothbrush parts was used to drip ink in response to the movement of the membrane leaving an imprint of the sounds. The machine could sensitively record variations in sound as I brushed my teeth with heavier, smoother and louder noises indicated in the marking of the ink. I also wanted to analyze this movement spatially and see how the sounds shifted between my bedroom and the smaller bathroom throughout the morning.
