Architects and Urban Designers construct narratives demonstrating the logic of their work. These stories consist of images, conversations, promotions, sounds, texts, fragments and metrics, and they are always partisan. Stories, and storytelling, stake out particular positions in the social landscape. Storytelling, in other words, shapes perception, and implies particular audiences with their own dynamics and contended interests. Digital media, however, also opens new territory for co-created narratives which register multiple actors, examine different scales, and catalyze new forms of collective action.
The Storytelling Stories symposium offers a forum for diverse producers to learn from each other, and to show how digital media can be generative, creating new points of view, and alternative or unseen relations.
