Information Session with Overland Partners

Takeshi Kamiya, Global Director of Urban Design & Planning, Principal, Lucas Pereira ‘23 M.Arch, and Designer II with Janelle Blain, HR administrator will facilitate a virtual information session to discuss working at Overland Partners and some of their projects. A short presentation followed by a Q&A session will be held at the end.

TAKESHI KAMIYA is a highly respected architect and urban designer known for his large-scale master plans across the globe for urban environments, downtown and entertainment districts, educational and corporate campuses, waterfront redevelopment, and sports entertainment venues. His work reflects a deep understanding of the complex social, economic, historical, and environmental factors that shape urban development. Takeshi’s designs prioritize environmental sustainability and the well-being of communities, while also advocating for equitable practices through urban design, master planning, and architecture. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and creativity, he creates designs that are both buildable and undeniably beautiful, resulting in memorable places that are responsible, viable, and loved by people.

LUCAS PEREIRA is a licensed architect in Brazil with a Master of Architecture from Columbia GSAPP. While in Brazil, he co-founded his architectural practice, being awarded in national and international design competitions. Lucas contributed to educational, cultural, and mixed-use developments throughout his professional endeavors in the United States and internationally. Lucas is interested in the phenomenological entanglements of architecture, being sensitive to the experiential qualities of materials and intentionality in the resolution of spaces. As a former Teaching Assistant in Design Visualization at Columbia University, he is interested in investigating different analog and digital mediums that can enhance architectural narratives and experience in design.

JANELLE BLAIN believes in delivering exceptional service, enhancing efficiency, and creating a positive employee experience and a workplace where everyone can thrive. With a background in business management and Human Resources, Janelle demonstrates her expertise in HR best practices including benefits, payroll, compliance, culture, and talent management. With a focus on people and culture, Janelle approaches each situation with kindness and candor and seeks outcomes that support personal and professional growth for all. In Janelle’s free time, she enjoys going to new places and making lasting memories through hiking, kayaking, DIY home projects, party planning, floral arranging, crafts, reading, and traveling.
