Representing Urban Design: Storytelling, Experience and Digital Media

Fri, Oct 21, 2016    3pm

Digital communication and visualization in recent years have dramatically changed the dialogues within and between disciplines, audiences and communities. The Representing Urban Design symposium continues the Urban Design program’s research into visualization by sharing with and learning from other disciplines. The goal of the symposium is to learn how digital media are explored using other terms of reference, other priorities or other positions as well as other techniques and technologies. How might we challenge these media as tools for the examination of our physical and social infrastructures, our policies, and our conventions? How might we utilize media to capture more self-reflective narratives, to inspire new research pathways, to imagine alternate futures, and to convey a richer story?
