rAADio: Sites of Entanglements
rAADio Launch and Panel Discussion

Death is a sensitive topic now more than ever. Can we challenge our understanding of it?

The inaugural season of rAADio investigates the theme of death through architecture, examining death’s impact on the built environment, its materialization and dematerialization of the human body, and how we can re-imagine preconceived notions of death.

Through this inaugural launch of the first season, Matt Shaw will host a reflection of this season of discussions to consider how architecture may be reevaluated through death.

rAADio is a podcast founded in 2021 by MS.AAD students in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, to expand the traditional role and associations of architecture between assemblages, interrelationships, bodies, and technologies, beyond simple scalar translation.

Introduction by Andrés Jaque, Associate Professor of Professional Practice and Director of the Advanced Architectural Design Program at Columbia GSAPP.

rAADio participants include Benjamin Akhavan (MS.AAD ‘21), Pabla Amigo (MS.AAD ‘21), Angel Castillo, (MS.AAD ‘21), and Joel McCullough (MS.AAD ‘21).
