Join GSAPP Summer Workshop participants for a visual essay on the Makassed Society’s modern architectural legacy. Al Makassed, also known as the Beirut Islamic Society of Benevolent Intentions, was founded in 1878, and witnessed unprecedented growth in the mid 20th Century.
This exhibition is conceived by students of Columbia University GSAPP students in the Master of Architecture, Critical, Curatorial, and Conceptual, and Historic Preservation Programs.
