January 22, 2021
Dear Students,
I am writing to share important updates in preparation for a successful return to campus for Spring 2021. Avery, Buell, Schermerhorn and Fayerweather studios will reopen this Monday, January 25th at 9 AM. Due to an increase in architecture students opting to work in-person, studio room schedules offer students a minimum of three and a half days access in two rotations.
To protect those who will be working and studying on campus, Columbia will require all returning students to follow its commitment to provide a safe working environment. Our continued priority is to keep our community and their families healthy, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Accessing Campus
Have you completed this list yet?
As we plan to return to campus with the hope of further increasing in-person sessions and access to facilities, I ask you to remain especially cautious at this moment when COVID-19 cases are increasing across the city and country. Thank you for your continued commitment and diligence in adhering to the University’s enhanced health and safety policy and the Columbia Compact. Please remember that violations of the compact, no matter how minor, can jeopardize student privileges including studio and campus access.
The most recently updated COVID-19 Public Health Protocols can be found on the University website, and include:

Sincerely,
Danielle Smoller
